Dr. Emily Althaus is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a private practice in Denver. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Denver, earning a dual degree in Clinical Psychology and Human Communications. She continued her education at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology where she earned her Doctorate in 2004. Dr. Althaus has had extensive training and experience working with individuals, couples, and groups. She has expertise working with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, identity and self-esteem, LGBTQ issues, eating disorders and body image as well as pregnancy, prenatal and postpartum concerns.
She is certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). DBT is an evidence-based therapy that has proven successful for improving quality of life, relationships, emotional dysregulation, suicidal thoughts, and self-harming behaviors.
